A straight, beautiful smile is something that everyone wants. And rightfully so, since a good smile can do wonders for your appearance and self-esteem. Numerous studies have shown that those who smile more are likely to have higher rates of success in social and professional situations.
Getting that smile, though, isn’t an ideal process. Most people think the only way to get straight teeth is still with traditional orthodontics. These days, that’s no longer the case. New technology makes it possible to get your smile without any metal in your mouth.
What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® is a new process for straightening teeth you can find in the office of most dentists in the country. It’s a simple process that uses clear plastic aligners instead of wires and brackets to straighten teeth.
How does it work?
During your first visit with Dr. Brick Scheer, you’ll have a mold made of your teeth. Once that mold has dried and formed, the rest of the team here will work on creating a series of clear, plastic aligners that are engineered to slowly move your teeth into their correct position over time. Typically, you’ll find that Invisalign® treatment lasts for about two years, though the time can be shorter or longer depending on how much alignment your teeth need.
Will it work for me?
Invisalign® isn’t a fit for everyone, but most people will be able to benefit from it. Our team here at Scheer Dentistry in Wichita, Kansas, will help you determine if it can make the difference you want to see in your smile.
